Of all the secret poker strategies that have been revealed to me, one stands out above the rest. There really is no secret strategy that can be applied to playing online poker for profit. An old friend once told me he built his bankroll via PPC. Now in the lexicon of the internet I’ve always known “PPC” to refer to “Pay-Per-Click” but not in this case. It simply refers to his personal poker mantra of patience, preparation and consistency.

Serious online poker pros know patience is truly a virtue when it comes to winning and winning big. Inevitably the dreaded run of bad cards will materialize and can last for days or even weeks. The seasoned pros will be aware of this and will have the patience to ride it out until the tide eventually turns. If you look at online poker as a business you will be able to look at your bankroll with an eye towards the long term - you’ll build your bankroll slowly but surely and turn a profit at the end of each and every month. Do not be surprised by any situation as it can take you out of your game and force you out of your comfort zone.

The third and final “secret” to remember is to always be consistent. Not consistent in the way that can get you labeled by the other players but consistency in following your own hard-earned poker strategy. Be confident in the fact that you will be more patient and better prepared than the other players at the table and don’t play beyond your means or out of your element.
