You’ve heard of people making a good amount playing poker but is this something you can do? The answer is actually yes. However how to play poker is a lot different than actually KNOWING how to play poker.

The poker world is constantly growing. Ever since the poker boom of 03, millions of people have gotten hooked into this exiting, intelligent and dangerous game and some have come out on top honing their experiences and skills and putting them to the best use possible to make a hefty profit most of the time they sit at a table. These are the people we look up to and hope to copy and make it to their level.

These individuals are able to predict their chances of winning a hand, are able to read their opponents before they even see their own hands and are able to plan their actions so quickly that it looks as though they just blinked, are able to give a false impression in order to bluff you, and are always seeking to exploit their opponents weaknesses. They are basically sharks looking for food and will use any nasty method of getting it. One of the best players at this Brad Booth. This person is so smart when it comes to bluffing that it is pure genius the way he pulls it off. If you know any poker pros and never heard of him, do yourself a favor and google his name. You’ll be amazed at what this guy can pull off. And its not impossible. We all have the ability to do this, but its much easier said than done.

Playing poker and comming out on top at the end of a game requires a lot of things to keep in mind. Most important is that you lose as little money as possible when you don’t have a winning hand, are unable to bluff and know you are beaten, and winning as much money as possible when you know you have the best hand, are able to play it right thus and milking your opponent’s for as much as possible, are absolutely positive you can bluff your opponent’s and correctly calculating your odds of landing a card that can make you or break you and react correctly so it works to your advantage and ends up giving you the most money.

Those are just the basics. Lets not forget patience which is by far one of the greatest assets you can have as a poker player who is trying to make it big. Do you honestly believe the poker pros and guru’s that make it big began that way? Do you have any idea how much they lost before they made it to where they are? The reason they did make it is because they learned from their mistakes and to this day are constantly seeking to improve their game.

This is something you also must do if you intend to make it somewhere in the poker world whether it be online or playing at casino’s or famous tournament such as the WSOP or WPT. Lets not forget how many other people are in your shoes, also trying to make it big and at the expense of their opponents which can be YOU.

Sorry if I sound cynical but this is just the tip of the iceberg people. I’m not trying to destroy your dreams of making it, but am in fact trying to warn you that if you choose to pursue this road, be prepared to face huge obstacles. I’ve been there before and still have yet to make it somewhere.

When I began playing poker I pictured a life of wealth, joy, women, cars and many things we all dream of when we seek to try something that is potentially profitable but that would soon break. I would have days where I would score great cards and make a lot of money doing so but this would quickly end when I got cocky. Depending on luck alone will break you very quickly as I learned.

The key to making money in poker is playing your hands correctly, estimating and calculating in such a way that you can put yourself in the best possible position to make the best plays you can, lose as little as possible, earn as much as possible, and give yourself the best odds of winning a hand. And even if you do plan all of this correctly there are times where it won’t work and another play may outdraw you or score a card that completely throws your plans out the window. In those cases you have to make tough decisions and adapt to the situation which can often times be difficult because you may have to sacrifice some money in order to stay alive (To keep playing that it hehe).

But its during the difficult moments where you are tested. Where you ask yourself “Is this worth doing?” and if the answer is no then stop playing the game! You must be in the mood to play poker if you are to focus on the game and devote yourself to it and even then its not certain that you will come out on top.

Going into the game with hopes that you will win it big are just dreams. Making your dreams come true isn’t easy but is well worth the effort if its something you seek to do in life and this is not just related to poker.

Ask yourself if you’re into poker because you see other people doing it. If you are then chances are you aren’t going to excel. But if you truly believe you have what it takes to do some serious damage start at the bottom and work your way up. Start at small tables or play with friends and see how you do. Watch poker shows and re-read poker books over and over. Constantly work on your weaknesses and study yourself. There is always room for improvement and if you can do this then you are likely to make it big.

Making it in poker is very difficult and can often times be hopeless. You will fall many times during your journey to make it big but its not how many times you fall, but how many times you pick yourself up and keep pursuing your dream that will ultimately lead you to success. But you can avoid many of these falls if you have the proper training. To learn more about what you can do to improve your chances of making it big in poker visit: pokerpropath.blogspot.com/

I’ve been playing online poker for free as if it was my hard earn money with very good results, playing at $1/2 tables. Make over $7,000 yesterday.
I wonder whether I would play differently with “real” money, tense, playing not to loose instead of playing my game?
Soon I’ll come to turns with myself and play for real money.
