In order to be a winning poker player you need to have the right attitude. You have to have the right mindset. If you want to play poker for fun, great, drink some beer, get together with your buddies and lose fifty bucks, hey its all for fun, right? However, if you want to play for money and profit then you have to change your thinking. Sure you can still have fun, but if your number one goal is to be making a profit then you must approach poker from a different stand point.

Using Poker Tells to Win Bigger Pots

If you are new to playing poker, the term “tells” may be new to you. In essence it is a physical hint or a tip as to what your opponent holds in his hands. There are certain hand gestures or mannerisms that we all have when we are lying. Some of us look at the ground or look away when we are telling a lie. Some of us hold our hand up to our mouths. It is no different when we are sitting at the poker table. Mike Caro has dedicated a lot of time and effort in researching poker “tells.” Caro is big on the saying “strong means weak and weak means strong.” If you interpret someone’s body language as acting strong he is probably weak and vice versa. Also remember that this is not 100%, there may be some who purposely act a certain way to try to throw you off. Just be sure to pay attention while you are at the table and you should be fine.
